About

I am married to Peter and we have two grown sons and a daughter-in-law.  We all live on the Central Coast of New South Wales, 100kms north of Sydney, Australia.

I first learned about what it means to be a Christian at a camp approximately 40 years ago, when I was about 10 years old.  A speaker at the camp told me that being a Christian wasn’t primarily about believing in a certain set of values or beliefs; it was about having a real relationship with God himself, which Jesus made possible by dealing with the problem of sin with his sacrificial death on the cross.  It was also in that meeting that I heard about the Holy Spirit for the first time.  This message of Christianity made perfect sense to me.

While the speaker was still giving her message, I slipped out of the meeting and prayed a simple prayer asking Jesus to be the Lord of my life.  I also invited the Holy Spirit into my heart.  At that very moment, and ever since, I have experienced the new life that Jesus offers to every person on the planet who entrusts their life to him and makes the decision to follow him.

The Good News of Christianity still makes sense to me as I keep learning, and as my relationship with God deepens.  It continues to resonate with every fibre of my being.

I am also interested and involved in discussions about Women in Ministry and Biblical Equality.  My story of how I became convinced of biblical equality is here.  (This article also contains some of my views on topics related to gender equality.)

I have a theology degree and I’m currently studying for a MA in Early Christian and Jewish Studies.  I spend a lot of my time on my computer, studying, writing and replying to people who contact me through the internet.  When I’m not on the computer I’m usually teaching religious education or piano, or I’m out in the garden getting my hands dirty.

My personal vision statement is: “to be conformed to the image of Christ” (Romans 8:29), which unfortunately won’t happen in this lifetime, but it will happen (1 John 3:2).

My personal mission statements are: (1) “to be as close to God as I possibly can be, to be filled with the Holy Spirit as much as I can be, and encourage others to do the same,” and (2) “To be a Kingdom agent wherever I am.”

I hope you will take the time to look through some of my articles – maybe listen to a song – or use my Bible Study notes.

My hope is that this website will help people to find God and live the new life that Jesus offers.
